June Columbus editor introduces the different types of machining centers
1. Column machining center: This refers to a machining center with a vertical spindle. Its structure consists mostly of fixed vertical poles, the operating table is rectangular, and there is no range rotation function. It is suitable for processing discs, sleeves, and seat parts. It generally has two uniform linear motion vertical coordinates, and a rotary table rotating along the horizontal axis can be installed on the working table for processing vortex parts.
2. Vertical machining center: refers to a machining center with a horizontal spindle. Vertical machining centers usually have a rotary table with an automatic range. It generally has 3 to 5 motion coordinates. The most common are three uniform linear motion coordinates and one rotating motion coordinate. After one clamping, the other four surfaces except for the mounting surface and the top of the wall are processed. It is most suitable for adding shell parts.

3. Horizontal machining center: It is a T-shaped structure suitable for the complex processing requirements of various box-shaped objects, rotating surfaces, or other polyhedrons.
4. Longmen machining center: The appearance is similar to that of a CNC gantry milling machine. The spindle of the Longmen machining center is mostly vertically set. In addition to the automatic tool change device, it also has a removable spindle head accessory. The functionality of the CNC machine tool is also relatively complete, and it can be used in one machine. It is especially suitable for processing large and medium-sized workpieces and workpieces with complex shapes
5. Five-axis machining center: It has the functions of a column machining center and a vertical machining center. In a five-axis machining center, the workpiece can be processed on five surfaces other than the mounting surface after being installed once.
6. Multi-axis machining center: It has changed the structure of the traditional CNC lathe in the past. Through the movement of the crankshaft, the multi-functional movement of the spindle is realized to carry out the processing of complex inclined surfaces of the workpiece.

June Columbus’s editor introduces the different types of machining centers. The CNC machining center features an automatic tool change device and a removable spindle head accessory. It offers comprehensive functionality in a single machine. The five-axis machining center allows for processing on five surfaces, while the multi-axis machining center enables complex inclined surface processing through the movement of the crankshaft.
